Ember has given birth to eight chubby puppies. Mom and her eight puppies (seven girls and one boy) are doing well. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see photos of the puppies as they grow!

Nottingham Shilohs, in conjunction with Stall Europa Shiloh Shepherds are proud to announce the breeding of Keystone’s Scarlet’s Ember with Sunstar’s Mighty Quinn von Europa. Our expectations for the puppies from this pairing include suitability to excel at conformation, breeding, working and most certainly as loyal companions. We anticipate these puppies to excel at almost any activity an owner would want to pursue, from obedience to therapy work and also expect them to have medium-soft to medium temperaments.

All puppies now have their ears and eyes open and they are starting to play with each other. They are gaining strength every day and are able to hold their heads up and walk for a few steps. They love to eat and can smell Ember when she is in the room. Ember takes wonderful care of her little babies, she cleans them and tends to their needs each and every time they call for her.

At three weeks old the puppies are starting to play with each other and with toys. They are now able to urinate and defecate on their own. Mom still helps out when she is around but the puppies are learning to do it own their own. We clipped their nails for the second time — those little puppy nails are sharp — and we also started them on puppy gruel. All the girls dug right into the gruel but “the Dill the boy” didn’t like it. It took some convincing but finally Dill accepted it and he is learning to enjoy it.

Each day we notice that their hind end is getting strong and they are starting to get teeth. They are such a joy to have around, their little puppy noises are so cute and the way they give kisses already just about melts your heart.

All puppies are doing great! They are eating like little pigs and running and playing with the big dogs. They have all of their teeth and are figuring out how to use them.

Crate training and potty training are going great! We have discovered that playing classical music makes the puppies calm and sleepy so we play it for them at bed time.

These puppies are such a joy to have around. Everyone that comes to visit, and we've already had over 60 visitors, comments on how calm and relaxed they are. They are just wonderful puppies.

All puppies are inquisitive and playful. They are exploring everything with their mouths and noses. Personalities are evolving and all puppies are confident and relaxed with people. Dill is our most laid-back puppy. He would rather be lying in the grass than exploring with his sisters. Rosemary is very similiar to Dill but Rosie likes to play for short periods of time. Juniper is so sweet and loving – she is a kisser. She loves to run and play with Rosie. Saffron is sweet and gentle, when she sees you she comes running for attention. Wasabi is a happy girl, an excuberent kisser but also loves to explore new places. Chives, like Wasabi is always happy, her tail does not stop wagging. Wasabi is our super confident girl, nothing fazes her as she faces life head on. Thyme and Mint are very similiar in personality and you will always find them exploring something new or leading the rest of the puppies into a new place. Like the rest of the group they are confident and loving, always looking for something to play with be it a toy or a brother or sister.

All puppies are uninterested in the cat. They play with the big dogs and love stuffed toys and nylabones. They are learning that if you stand in front of the door, someone will take you out. They all love the outdoors.

Ember is still trying to nurse them. She will stand for them for a few minutes and then try to get them to play with her. She has been such a good mom and is still teaching them lifes lessons. We really couldn’t have asked for a better group of puppies.
