We knew we wanted sheep when we moved to our new property and with the help of a friend found the perfect sheep for our lifestyle. We decided to go with the Clun Forest sheep because they are a hardy breed and do well grazing on pasture, they are great mothers, easy to lamb and eager to mother, they produce a fleece free of black fibers and have lambs with lean quality meat.
We acquired our first three sheep from Blue Heron Farm in Round Hill, VA. Our next three sheep, including our ram, came from from Meadow Brook Farm located in Warrenton, VA. Our final sheep came from Rocky Top Farm. Club Forest Sheep, whose origins are thought to be from eastern Wales UK near the town of Clun, became a standardized breed in 1925 with the formation of the Club Forest Sheep Breeder’s Society.
We are hopeful come Spring we will have lambs. If you are interested in purchasing a lamb, meat or fleece, please contact us.
